World Heritage, National Parks, and Australia’s Red Center … Artwork Inspiration

This Composition features the Bungle Bungle Range in Purnululu N.P. striped in grey, black and fire orange, rising dramatically over the bright yellow spinifex and the endless red of the Australian desert. A fluorescent green lizard showing off its spiral galactic tattoo throws into relief the contrasting hues of Uluru (Ayers Rock), and the domes of Kata Tjuṯa (The Olgas). In the east, the sun rises over another vision of Uluṟu as seen from the air, replete with its weathered crevasses, etchings, chasms and waterholes which overflow during the wet season, creating Uluṟu’s waterfalls. The viewer may discern elements of Aboriginal art, whether incorporated into the landscape itself or embellishing the sinuous reptilian fauna which adorn the great monolith.
