Fiji’s Northern Nirvana — Vanua Levu and Taveuni … Artwork Inspiration
A dazzling sunset in this Composition illuminates the darkening skies over the Somosomo strait which separates Taveuni, Fiji’s third largest island from Vanua Levu, it’s second largest, on the south coast of which is located the major town of Savusavu, and its stunning protected harbor which attracts yachties from the world over. East of Savusavu and fringing the south coast of Vanua Levu, a gorgeous barrier reef creates a stunning foreground to the mountainous island, especially as seen from the air. Just a stone’s throw east of Taveuni lies the smaller, but spectacular island of Qamea showcasing verdant rainforest and sandy beaches, and a life-size chess board. Traditional Fijian form and design is evident everywhere, as can a “traditionally” bright blue starfish blissfully settled on the healthy coral reef which fringes Qamea.
