One of Fitzroy Island’s favorite beaches is Nudey Beach, famous for its pearly white sand lapped by sensational aquamarine hued waters, while the island itself is a haven for kayaking .  Not to be outdone, Dunk, Hinchinbrook and Magnetic Islands also feature wide sandy arcs backed by lush tropical foliage.  This  Composition features a fusion of views: across Brammo Bay on Dunk Island; motoring up a channel approaching Hinchinbrook Island with a full-on of the many peaks of its massif – of which Mt. Bowen is the highest; and a granite headland framing a sparkling arc of sand on Magnetic Island.  Also seen is iconic Castle Hill, a Townsville landmark rising imposingly behind its marina.  This region of Queensland is World Heritage Central!  The Wet Tropics Area runs down the coast, while the Great Barrier Reef Area encompasses the reefs and islands in the Coral Sea.
